Sunrise Home Care Agency's Caregiver Training Program has been providing accredited quality instruction in state-required basic
caregiver training and continuing education for caregivers since 1997. We welcome caregivers from adult family homes, boarding homes, and fellow agencies, and individual providers and
family caregivers.
In fact, our classes are open to our entire community. We recognize that
we are all caregivers, if not to a loved one, then to ourselves. Classes are available in English and Russian,
and we welcome students of all languages. We teach over
2500 caregivers each year the necessary skills to provide excellent care.
For ease of registration, please choose one of the options below: Students who work for Adult Family Homes, Boarding Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Home Care Agencies, DD Programs, and unpaid Family Caregivers Students contracted as Individual Providers NEW! Continuing Education Home Study
When you are required to take a class, what could be better than to
learn in a beautiful, comfortable education center dedicated to the
training needs of care professionals?
We recognize that family caregivers have an especially challenging task,
often giving long hours with little or no training or support. Our
hearts go out to you. To help you receive the training and support you
need to enhance the loving care you give to your family member, we are
pleased to offer free enrollment to all of our training classes. Please
follow the links below to see our full schedule of classes. To enroll,
please call the Training Coordinator at 425-212-4210 for assistance.
January 25, 2008 Dear Friends: I want to take a moment to let you know that when you read this I will have moved to the Olympia area. My husband has a job there. I don’t want to leave without saying goodbye to all of you and to let you know that these last 9 ½ years have been wonderful. It has been my great pleasure and privilege to work with all of you and to see you stretch and reach to improve your caregiving skills. I will miss each one of you because you are more than students to me, you are friends, some of which I have known since my first days at Sunrise. To all my dear friends at Sunrise: It has been a great ride! I have never worked for a more wonderful group of people. Thank you for every way you supported me and helped me over the years. To Sharon Bowers: YOU ARE THE BEST! I am going to miss all of you more than you will know. Keep up the good work and perhaps we shall meet again in a different venue. With my best wishes for your continued success, Sandie Williams LPN
Our instructors are licensed medical professionals who present their classroom instruction with clarity, simplicity, and respect for students. Our goal is to make your learning experience informative and fun.
Sandie Williams has been an LPN for nearly 20 years, and has been
teaching at Sunrise since 1998. Most of her
practice has been in long term care, specializing in caring for clients
with dementia. For many years she has been responsible for teaching various
health care topics at in-services, in classroom settings, and with
individual clients and their families. As the lead instructor at Sunrise, she
supervises the classes and the Education Center. She is a knowledgeable,
friendly, outgoing instructor who provides a relaxed atmosphere to
enhance learning.
In 2005, Sandie received national recognition from Empire Who's Who
as a Gold Member for her accomplishments as a healthcare
professional. Nominated by her colleagues and accepted after
careful review, Sandie joins professionals from many fields who consider
it an honor to be chosen. Our congratulations to Sandie for her
outstanding leadership and well-deserved recognition. Audrey Autrieth has been an RN for 25 years, working at all levels in a variety of nursing fields, and has been teaching at Sunrise since 2005. In addition, she also does Nurse Delegation for Sunrise. Her practice has taken her into a variety of nursing specialties, beginning with years of hospital nursing in general surgery, orthopedics, neuro-surgery, and pediatrics. Most of the 1980s Audrey spent in overseas duty in Saudi Arabia working in a military hospital operated by an American company, and then on to West Germany working for the US Army in military hospitals there. Upon returning to the US, she spent 4 years doing clinic nursing, including walk-in care and day surgery. At that point, Audrey went into long term care nursing. Serving in positions from Coordinator to Director of Nursing, she was responsible for various health care inservices, counseling clients and families, and teaching a variety of health related classes, including certified nursing assistant classes. She has also served as a RN tester for the Washington State testing of CNA applicants. With her deep background across the spectrum of nursing fields, Audrey is a knowledgeable and outgoing instructor and, according to her students, her classes are both interesting and very informative.
Raisa Lepkova was an RN for many years in Russia, practicing in
both hospital and clinic settings. For 16 years she worked as an
