Financial Management and Protective Payee Programs
Many individuals with developmental and other disabilities and individuals receiving public assistance have had little opportunity to develop money management skills. Since these skills are basic to independent living, Sunrise Services offers assistance and training in basic money management as part of our Protective Payee and Supported Living programs. This training includes budgeting, banking, use of checks and debit cards, asset management, and financial planning. Our approach emphasizes fostering responsibility, sound judgment, independence, and choice.
Sunrise Services is a participant in state and federal protective/representative payee programs for individuals who have been assigned to receive assistance managing their Social Security benefits or public assistance grant funds. By ensuring that basic needs are met first, this assistance helps provide financial stability while individuals learn to manage their finances with skill and judgment.
