New Freedom

Who are we?

The New Freedom Program is a state contracted Medicaid In Home Waiver program providing caregiver and other wide-ranging goods and services for disabled and elderly persons who require a level of care that would otherwise be provided in an institutional environment. The New Freedom program enables participants to remain in their homes while receiving these service, enjoying greater freedom and independence.

How do we help you?

woman with daughterWe assist participants in directing their own care by providing consultation and advise, as well as contracting with care providers and vendors for the delivery of goods and services related to the Participant's healthcare needs.

How do I get started?

Referrals for elderly adults and adults with disabilities are made through Department of Social and Health Service's Home and Community Services (HCS) . Contact this division to request a referral.

Who pays for this service?

The New Freedom Medicaid Waiver program is funded jointly by state and federal funds. In some cases DSHS may determine that the Participant is required to pay for some part of these services.
