Sunrise Home Care Agency

Enabling others to remain in their cherished homes and enhancing their independence by helping them with daily tasks is as invaluable as it is heart warming. Sunrise Home Care Agency is making a positive difference in the lives of the elderly and adults and children with disabilities throughout Snohomish County. The care we provide is given to the elderly and those with disabilities directly in their private homes.

Our Home Care Aides not only assist with personal care such as bathing, dressing, and hygiene, but also with household skills such as meal preparation, shopping and laundry. We provide a total of 17 essential tasks skillfully and cheerfully, based on the needs of the individual. Last but not least, we provide friendship, companionship, and caring to those who need it most. We have been playfully told by those who receive Sunrise Services that our employees are "Sunshine.""

This is a position where your arrival is eagerly anticipated and you are greeted with smiles of joy. Every Home Care Aide is assigned to a supervisor who will personally weave the hours you are available to work into a schedule that can be flexible around your personal needs and family.

Sunrise Home Care Agency recognizes the value and importance of family and will view your employment with us as becoming a member of our extended family.

Some comments from Sunrise Home Care employees

-Debbie, Home Care Aide

"I feel great knowing I've made a difference in someone's quality of life by helping them to be able to stay home rather than being placed in a nursing facility."
-Kathy, Home Care Aide

"They need someone who cares and takes time to listen to them. All are individuals, and each is lovable in their own way. I enjoy this job as I have satisfaction in my heart knowing I can help them. They become like family."

Supported Living

Working in Supported Living provides an opportunity to help individuals with developmental disabilities to lead more abundant, more fulfilling lives through learning and applying increased daily living skills. Aiding others to achieve self-directed independence and competency is rewarding and deeply satisfying. Our Community Support Specialists go to the homes or apartments of participants (usually 1-3 individuals who live together) to provide individual assistance and training to help them live as independently in the community as possible. Applicants with compassion, good common sense, patience, and respect for others' capabilities are needed to join these staffing teams.

Some comments from Sunrise Supported Living employees:
“The clients I work with are happy to learn new things. One of my clients is trying to say words. Others are helping to cook and clean their apartments. One of them loves his trains, his roommate loves his cat. It makes me feel good when I see them smile after they have done something new.”
-Janeen, Community Support Specialist

“I enjoy working with Sunrise. It is great to work where we function as a team. I like knowing that when help is truly needed, we all pull together. It’s a win-win situation. I also think the clients are fun but it is all the staff I enjoy the most.”
-Connie, Community Living Facilitator

“I have chances to help others while learning and growing myself through all the training and educational opportunities. These skills benefit me and my personal relationships while helping me better serve the people I work with. Sunrise has a culture of care and support for their employees as well as for the program participants. I truly like it here.”
-Shari, Coordinator

More About Sunrise Supported Living

Adult Family Homes

Adult Family Homes provide a community alternative to nursing homes for individuals whose disabilities make them unable to live independently in the community but who do not require intensive nursing care. Up to six participants live in each of our large, roomy and pleasant homes in a cheerful environment. Participants receive a broad range of supports to maintain their health and well being. Recreation, fun, and outside activities are a part of each day’s adventures. Staff cook, clean, and assist with the details of daily living. Many of the participants who live in the AFHs are older adults who have physical or mental needs secondary to their disability. Applicants with understanding and compassion and a heart for service to others are needed for these rewarding positions.

Some comments from Sunrise Adult Family Home employees:
“Working at Sunrise is as our name says. We are trying to bring a little light into the lives of very special people, our clients.”
-Larry, Community Support Specialist

“Sunrise Services tends to attract people who love people. It’s the rule rather than the exception to see Sunrise employees going beyond their job requirements to care for people. Although Sunrise is in the business of caring for its clients, you often see employees caring for other employees. It’s an attitude that’s contagious.”
-John, Controller
